TIP: Make a Date with Your Genius

----------------

One of my (Megan) goals this year is to create spaciousness.  Of course because this was my new commitment I spent the first couple of weeks of the year in a mad dash. Luckily, my body was brilliant enough to slow me down with a wicked case of the flu, which flattened me for a week and took another to get my energy back.

I’ve been realizing that even though I live in my genius that I haven’t been giving my genius space to breathe.  I’ve been going so fast that I haven’t allowed my genius to work for me.  I’ve been pushing and working at such a pace that I’ve been doing all the work.  I’ve been my own boss for over 12 years and mostly haven’t given myself the freedom I need to really flourish.  I have the freedom to do what I love but not the freedom of space and time.

So, since I’ve come out of my body-imposed break.  I’ve been taking care to rest, to read, to write and to just be.  As a result I’ve been more present with myself and others; I’ve also attracted some lucrative project potentials and more income I have ever made in a month in my life.  I think I’ll sleep some more.

So I ask you … Are you giving your genius enough space to develop and flourish?  Are you allowing your genius to work for you, magnetizing to you what you really want?

One of our readers last month wrote to us and said she had discovered a brand new genius and wanted to know what she should do.  So this is my answer to her, give it room.  Make a space to be with it, tinker with it and to wonder.  The order of creation is first “be” then “do” then you begin to “have” results.  Genius takes a lot of being!!!

EXPERIMENT

----------------

TRY THIS ON:  MAKE A DATE WITH YOUR GENIUS!

Just like a couple who gets caught up in the daily routine of kids, work and home may begin to lose connection with one another by forgetting to nurture their relationship by being with each other, you can lose connection with your genius by not taking time and space to simply be with it.

Every day for the next week take time out to simply be with your genius.  You might write about it, you might sleep on it, or you might simply stop and breathe.  You can focus on a particular genius you want to bring into being or on genius in general.

If you like your experiences, find a way to make this space ongoing in your life.

We’d love to hear what happens for you.

Until next month,

Philip Johncock & Megan Sillito
